* February 5 - Abdul Quader Molla is sentenced to life imprisonment. Initial gathering of protesters in Shahbagh Square (also known as Shahbagh Circle).
* February 6–7 - Protests intensify, crowds grow bigger, other cities and towns pick up protest. Bangladeshi diaspora and student communities abroad also begin to express solidarity with the protest.
* February 8 Friday - Hundreds of thousands attend afternoon rallies in Shahbag and nationwide. Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal and others address the crowds.
* February 9–10 - Protest continues countrywide.
